Sounds quite grand, it actually started as a small boys dream, Marc would twist bits of wire together to make rings as a small boy and at secondary school would find a way to turn a metal work project into a work of art!
On leaving school, he started at night school under the tutorial of jewellers from some of the best companies in London, some who created items for the Royal Family.During the day learning his skills at the bench making patterns for reproduction pieces in Hatton Garden.
When Marc moved to Anglesey at the end of the 80’s, he opened a small shop in Benllech and gained a good reputation for the quality of his work. On the retirement of his close friends Betty and Wodik Monisko (Marion), he took over their shop in Bangor opposite the bus stops, where he worked until the closure of the Wellfield Centre due to its demolition.
But this did not stop him from trying to look after his long standing customers (friends) and he opened a second shop in Menai Bridge which proved to be a good move giving access to many customers who found the trip into Bangor difficult. But still managing to keep in contact with his Bangor based customers by opening a new shop in Dean Street.
Both shops are now known for the high quality of goods they sell and the friendly welcome all receive from the staff.
Both shops carry ranges of Designer Jewellery to suit all pockets , even ‘pocket money’ if the children want to buy Mum a ‘little something’ right up to that special diamond piece which says ‘I Love You’.
And if you can’t find exactly what you have in mind, a chat with Marc can usually sort that out as he is always pleased to make that very special piece to give joy and happiness |
